Q: Why can’t India and America simply cut down or cut off trade ties with the dragon to show its place. What are the practical hurdles that stop us from doing this? Do you think in the worst scenario china can stop waters flowing into India and if so how many states would be affected and what would be the extent of damage? We better do something because china is too clever to talk of no war but they poke others to start the same.

A: Please be realistic. In a globalised economy it is not easy to disconnect with any country without putting in place an alternative system. We should be firm and insist of equal terms of trade. Moreover both America and china speak the language of money only.

Q: Recent incident involving the death of a lady inmate in Maharashtra raises an important issue of safety of lady convicts. Is it not a high time we need to have a separate jail for ladies with lady administrators?

A: Our jails have separate areas for women inmates and these are looked after by only women administrators. No male officer can enter those wards without a female officer. There couple of jails in India which are managed by lady officers only.  We need efficient and clean officials irrespective of the gender.

Q: Karnataka assembly speaker sentenced two journalists with a jail term and fine. Don't you think Journalists should adhere to the self drawn lakshman rekha while reporting? I feel in the name of freedom of press, certain people are behaving irresponsibly. Your opinion on this.

A: I agree. Some of us don't follow the golden rules of journalism. Now we get more of views than news.
